Playing lottery games these days is really very simple. It does not matter at all as to the country of origin. In addition to the ability to purchase your tickets online, keeping abreast of the latest information and news relating to the lotteries that interest you has never been easier. Just check out a specialist lottery website and ensure you are signed up to receive the weekly newsletters, or choose to get updates sent to your mobile phone.

With modern technology making the world a much smaller place, you can select a lottery from the many different countries offering these games. It is a good idea to learn about any rules and regulations regarding buying your lottery tickets online and find out about any instructions on how to play a specific game.

The option is still there to just walk in to your local store and hand your numbers in there and then, but you are often limiting yourself to games based in the part of the world where you are based. Increase your chances of winning by becoming part of the online community of players, with the ability to pick numbers for an assortment of games.

If you wish to choose numbers for a regional game like the Florida Lotto, NJ Lottery or even the California Lottery, this is now possible. Or you could go for the bigger prizes and play for astonishing amounts of cash in the Mega Millions or Powerball lottery games.

The best advice anyone could give a beginner is to read around the subject and focus on how to make the most of these lottery opportunities and the various competitions available. Then you can get your lottery tickets and wait for the upcoming draw date.

Checking to see if you have won is also more straightforward than ever before. Lottery results are posted on most decent lottery websites not long after the numbers have been drawn. The ability to download free lottery apps to a mobile phone and have results emails direct to your computer have made lottery play so much simpler.

If you are looking to buy lottery tickets visit the www.alottery.com web site.

Not all games that you can play on your computer are about graphics. Sometimes they are a little bit more rewarding in real terms. Take online bingo, for instance. If you enjoy getting involved in online activities that offer a little bit more in the way of monetary prizes, then online bingo is definitely for you.

Websites like Wink Bingo have loads of attractive promotions to help people get started playing online bingo if they aren’t familiar with the idea. Online bingo gives you a chance to use your computer for something engaging in a totally different way to computer games.

One of the major differences between computer games and online bingo, clearly, is the fact that the latter could win you some serious money. This is a huge attraction, especially with promotions as good as those found in Wink Bingo. Then there is the sociable element. Social gaming is really popular because it lets you chat at the same time as playing.

Details of other promotions can be found at ohmybingo.com which acts as a one-stop resource for all your bingo news. If you want to know what prizes, promotions and deals are hot at the moment, this is the place to go.

There are many produces of sports games across all gaming platforms, we have EA Sports (its in the game), Konami and 2K being three of the biggest in next gen platforms. It was 2009 when I was first blown away by a sports game. I was walking through a mall and I saw a shop in the distance. They had a television bracketed onto the wall. From a distance I presumed it was a television shop as they were clearly showing a basketball game, as I got closer I started to realise it was a gaming shop and therefore it must be a computer game. I then found myself stood in front of the counter, a couple of metres from the television still believing that this was in fact a live basketball game.

I was simply blown away by the graphics. The only thing that gave it away that I was in fact watching a computer game was a little ‘Demo’ watermark in the bottom of the screen. The game itself was NBA 2K 2009. Whether you like basketball or not, this game is worth every penny you pay for it. The visuals, commentary and cuts will take your breath away. The sweat on the skin, the shine of the court. Ive not even mentioned the crowd yet. The animations of the crowd are the best I have ever seen. Fact. You’ll see supporters talking to one another, going to buy a hotdog, standing up, sitting down, cheering, booing. They are so life like, and to be honest, I think thats what fooled me into thinking I was watching a live game.

Is it strange that my favourite game of all time is not on a next gen console? Instead it comes from the 16 bit, cartridge game, SNES. My favourite game of all time is Donkey Kong Country. From the moment it loads up, a smile is on my face. The jungle music and the image of the goofy pair of Donkey Kong and Diddy really does set the tone.

As you fly past the first few levels, the addiction kicks in. The first level can be completed in about 60 seconds if you know the game well. The levels are however rather complex, with hidden areas, mini games, and little cheats.

Like Super Mario collecting coins. Donkey Kong is slightly different in that you collect bananas. 100 bananas = 1 life. Believe me, later in the game you’ll need these lives.

A special shout out has to go to my favourite level of the whole game. The runaway mine train level. The level starts by jumping into a mine train and rollercoasting your way through the level, jumping to avoid ‘baddies’, ducking under and jumping over missing parts of track. The level really is at 100mph. With quick succession broken track and what seems to be quite imposssible long jumps, you end the level shattered. What a game!

I have been playing the latest version of Pro Evolution Soccer now for the last 6 months. Naturally I feel like I have given the game plenty of time to show me what it has to offer. I am the sort of gamer who only really plays when I have friends over. For this version of Pro I have mainly just been playing a 2 player Master League vs the computer. We are Bolton, but started the Master League in D2.

As with all ‘season’ games which come out every year, we always compare to past versions and of course competitors. The PES vs Fifa battle has been going on for over 10 years now, every year people voicing their opinions on which is the better football series.

First of all let me point out the positives for this years PES.

Player faces and kits looking as accurate as ever (with the help of the editors at pesgaming)

Camera angle. Particularly at the start of the game looks very realistic

Score and time graphics. Finally PES has put the time and score together on the left hand side so it looks more like when we watch football on television.

Can win a penalty. This is a dig at last years PES where I started to believe it was actually impossible to win a penalty.

Stadium editor is a great addition. I have been calling for this for years. Its just a shame it is so limited.

Now for the negatives…

Tackles and Fouls. Free kicks and Penalties being given even when a player has clearly got the ball first.

Penalty kick system. Change it, change it, change it!!! I want a power bar and the option to chip, its not difficult. Fifa 10 had it very close to perfect.

Master League transfers system. Why cant I choose how much im prepared to pay for a player out of my budget?

Passing. Ive found it really difficult to score ‘arsenal style’ goals this year as the passing pace and accuracy seems worse than ever. I thought it was meant to be the year of ‘freedom’

Auto kick off. This really isnt necessary. Why did you add this?

I will leave my improvements for another blog. But personally I feel Pro Evolution Soccer hasnt hit the heights that were promised. Although I enjoy playing the game, the fact the ‘rules’ of football are not implemented in the game make it a rather poor title. This isnt football, this is something else.

If you’re a fan of online gaming but you’re not too sure if the (rather girly) game of bingo is the right one for you, Cheeky Bingo might have a solution.

Despite its name, Cheeky Bingo does specialise in something other than bingo. The site’s range of online casino, slots and scratch card games is actually quite good and well worth checking out. You never know – you might win a bundle!

New casino games are added to Cheeky Bingo all the time, along with increasingly tempting cash prizes and bonuses.

Slot games

Choose from the following games:

•	Fruit Machine
•	Old MacDonald
•	Monkey Paradise
•	Pirate’s Gold
•	Lucky Spell

There are also a number of multi-line slots games to try, such as Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, Carry On and X Factor. If that isn’t enough to whet your appetite, take a look at the Super Slots games available – Temple of Isis, Aztec Rising, Sci-fi Invasion, Fluffy Favourites, Sands of Fortune and Shaman’s Dream.

Other games you can enjoy include:

•	Instant win games – Noughts and Crosses and Bee Happy
•	Table games – Roulette Deluxe
•	Scratchcards – Love Lines, Hollywood Stars and X Factor

To find out which other online bingo sites also specialise in online casino games, check out ohmybingo.com.

Maybe that’s the problem. Maybe I’m responsible. Maybe the Aussies peeked out from betwixt the corks on their hats and saw me chatting about Mortal Wombat when I was about 11. Confused, they made a note to follow this up later and have now done so, 20 years on.

Whatever the reason, I’m frankly astonished that I can still go on a computer game website in 2011 and see a headline like ‘Mortal Kombat banned’. I remember when the videogame industry moved on apace, but clearly not one thing has happened in two decades. It’s dispiriting.

Civ V seems the same, but looks less shit. It’s weaponry, science and taxes. It’s granaries and wonders of the world. It’s irrigation and mining.

And now you choose social policy. And combat’s more complex. Someone somewhere said it was more fun.

Even more worryingly, it is said that Civ IV is more complex than Civ V. I pretty much associate complexity with quality, so might have to do some sort of comparison. This would proably constitute a lifetime’s undertaking.

The guns are crap.

There are probably loads of great weapons if you spend all your time online, but Goldeneye isn’t about that – it’s about shooting your mates in the face. It’s about being in the same room and this element of the multiplayer is lacking.

All the guns are much the same and you don’t get that moment where suddenly one of you has oblitero-cannon and everyone else has to leg it. It’s all too equal. It’s all too fair.
