The game graphics looks alright and the gameplay sounds fun. We haven’t had a chance to test the game yet but we will do very soon. The “action rpg” is intriguing and done correctly, could start a new genre of games. You don’t see that many spy games that are really revolutionary. When you’ve played the like of Metal Gear and Splinter Cell you’ve played them all, we say.

Valve have also added that the beta will run for a while and when everything is ready will be available to anyone, for free.

The new features include:

• 144 new achievements
• Lifetime player stats and summary
• New match player stats and summary screens
• New end of round display with MVP and interesting fact about a player
• Updated scoreboard with new icons, visual style, MVP stars, and avatar pictures
• New cinematic death camera
• New domination and revenge system
• Added avatar icons to voice chat, scoreboard, and end of round display

Nvidia’s latest range of graphic chips is a feast of power that will set you wallet on fire. Based on the new Fermi architecture, this range of graphic card is literally what is meant to be the most powerful chip on the planet.

For the price we were really expecting something amazing. But it’s not quite that. First the card is very noisy and seem to get very hot very quickly.

In games tests show that it is indeed very fast but also overkill when used in single monitors set up. An ATI 5870 will do just as good for £100 less.

Allods is a MMORPG recently released by a GPotato. The story takes place in a futuristic universe where two factions are at war against each other. The birthplace of life in this universe got shattered may aeon ago into small island of life called Allods. When someone discovered a way of transport in the Astral, the society bagan to rebuild itself.

The game is free to play, you just have to download the client and create a gpotato account. It is very very similar to World of Warcraft in it gameplay and is surprisingly good for a free game. Spatial ships and endless war await you.

In addition to that you can also get Portal for free from Steam at the moment, Mac and Pc version. So hurry up, offer valid until the 24th of May.

And to complete this Steam new, we have to mention that people have found evidence that a Steam client is also in the work for Linux!

Valve have put forward the new client from beta to official release on the 26th of this month. New stuff includes:

• New Steam client UI design to improve discoverability of features and to better expose all the information related to games in your library
• New in-game overlay UI design to create a richer in-game experience exposing context sensitive information related to the game you are currently playing
• New game details view, presenting a detailed view of all the information for a single game in your library
• New grid view, presenting a graphical view of your game library
• New news page in the store/client/overlay that aggregates Valve related news sites, official community groups, and third-party gaming news feeds
• New downloads view in the client, making it easier to track your progress downloading new games or game updates
• New Steam store design, including more integrated community features, improved recommendations, and improved video and screenshots viewing (and much more!)

Following our last post received some good links about browser based mmo. The best one, that somehow slipted past us without noticing, is Lord of Ultima, from EA.

Lord of Ultima is, if your are familiar with the Ultima series, base on the World of Ultima. It is a kind of RTS game where you build and train armies to fight you fellow neighbors. It is an well made little game, all browser based and free to play. you only need to have or create a EA account (which you would have done if you played Dragon Age, Mass Effect and the rest).

Recently we have seen some developer going the full route of MMO based games. Those  massively multilayer online games are the next generation of Flash and web browser based games. That and the like of Quake Live, the only one of the genre at the moment, that brings fill Quake 3 support right in you Firefox window.

Valve have released the first Addon for L4D2: The Passing. Introducing a new game mode, new weapons, new infected class and more, the Passing looks awesome.

There is also 3 new maps for us to enjoy and more achievements. THe mutation bit is what interest us the most. It basically introduce a new game mode every week. The first week is Realism Versus, and for having played it, it is really harder for the survivors.

Bring it on Valve, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next mutations. Not had a chance to test the new weapons either (glof club!).

One of the latest release from Eidos and Square Enix, Just Cause 2 is, you guessed it, the follow up of Just Cause. This new chapter takes place on a island somewhere warm and sunny where rebels causing distress.

You, Scorpio, the ultimate mercenary warrior are hired by the boss rebel (pretty hot chick) to set the island on fire and sabotage everything that relates to governmental organizations.

So off you go, free like a bird, shooting on sight anything that’s even remotely related to the dictatorship.

It’s a pretty fun game, a la GTA where the more caos you cause the more people will try ti get you. You can drive vehicles, planes, helicopters, use mounted gatling, rocket launcher, do amazing stunt jumps and generally have fun killing and destroying.

From us, very good, a must have.
