Mario is one of, if not the biggest computer gaming icons ever. The chubby Italian plumber was originally released on a pinball machine, but eventually ended up on consoles such as Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advances and the Nintendo Wii. Mario games are platform games where a user must navigate the character from A to B, without losing all their lives, and whilst also collecting coins.
Mario had allies such as Luigi, his brother, Yoshi, a tall, flying dinosaur, Toad, a small mushroom-like creature and Peach, the ‘Good’ princess. The idea of the game is to rescue the princess from the evil king Bowser, who looks like a turtle, but breathes fire.
